I tried to format eToken pro under PKI Client 4.55 but every time I got ;Reader or Token error' message box. Token work normally during regular tasks (ie cert generation).

What could cause such behavior and how to format eToken in this state ?

Check status of FIPS mode in eToken properties,is it On or Off ?

FIPS is ON and during formatting I use the right admin password.

I suspect that there was setted up initalization password. I tried to use all my known passes but unsuccessful.

If FIPS mode is on you had to give current pasword during initialization,If you not remembering the current pasword you can not initialze the eToken.

By the current password you mean the user or administrator password ? If so, I give correct one for 1000%, because I use them to log in to token successfully.

Current password does not mean user or admin password. when you go to parameter option during initialization there is colum of current password,pasword given to their during earlier initialization is current password.

I use correct current password, because any other causes Ivalid Password message. Unfortunately even if I give good current password I always got 'smartcard security object locked' message box.
